I've been photographing this little guy since he was a newbie. It's hard to believe he's now one year old!

He likes to flirt with me when I take his pictures.

"I refuse to take any more pictures! I'm done..."

"OK, OK... just ONE more."

This one was my favorite from his session! And although he just turned a year old, he'll be a big brother come May. Stay tuned for some sweet big brother pictures!

It seems today, you can do a search online for photographers in the area and come up with 100 different results. How do you choose the right photographer to capture your family's memories?

 Here are a few things that set JRP apart from other photographers in the central Mississippi area:

I won't meet you for the first time on the day of your session, take your pictures, and never see you again. With each session, I have an in-home consultation with the client before the session takes place. Why? The initial consultation lets me know what kind of images you're wanting for your home. Are you wanting an album? Canvas art? A few wall portraits? We talk about what to wear, the location of the session, etc. So that on the day of the session, there's nothing for you to worry about!

Because JRP books a limited amount of sessions each month, this means that I am able to focus more attention on my clients. Unlike other photographers, I don't book 6+ sessions a week. If I did, I would lose the connection with my clients that I love! I give each of my clients star treatment.

After each session, I conduct an ordering appointment in the clients' home. Many clients aren't sure what sizes they want to order. "How big will an 11x14 look on my wall? How many prints should I order? Would this print look good hanging next to THIS print?" During the ordering appointment, I will present your images to you for the first time, and will be able to show you what different image sizes look like on your walls. I can also show you different picture arrangements to help make the decision process easier.

JRP offers fine quality heirloom products to display your memories. The Iris book, Claire Album and Folio are all handmade by artisans using the finest materials. These are products exclusive to JRP!

New Shapes for Boutique Cards

I just got back from Imaging USA, a conference for professional photographers. It was my first time to San Antonio. What a beautiful city!

So what does the fact that I went to Imaging mean for my clients?

I saw so many new products I want to introduce to my clients during 2011.

Most of my newborns will sleep during their entire session, however, some little ones take longer to fall asleep. This little angel was wide awake for part of her session. I was able to take this image as she looked directly at me. It's like looking into the eyes of God. Babies are true miracles!

The other weekend I spent the afternoon with this little guy. I'll admit, I was a little worried during the session! When I got there he was fast asleep and was not wanting to wake up for pictures. And because we woke him up sooner than he wanted to,  he was fussy for a little bit. But after a quick bottle he was good to go, and I was able to get some beautiful images!

This little guy slept so well for his session! And I was able to capture some sweet smiles. I love it when I'm able to capture smiling babies! It usually happens as they're entering a deep sleep. And it's my belief that they smile when they hear the angels. So. sweet. I love it.

She's ten days old, and already has several different tutus to wear!

I've waited nine long months to take this image. I love it!

meet Zep *sneak peek* Brandon, MS child photographer

Yesterday I had a session with this little man. He was definitely shy. I had to talk about Batman to get him to smile for me.  :)

 He brought along his new pup, Zep. I couldn't resist... I had to get eye level with him. He was a gorgeous puppy! He had one blue eye and one grayish eye. He was running all over the place... splashing in the mud and sitting on ant hills. I just happened to catch him during the 3.4 seconds that he was being still.
