I ♥ Faces * Nostalgia Photo Challenge*

Over at iHeartFaces their photo challenge this week is "Nostalgia". What picture is nostalgic to me? Oh, I have hundreds. I thought about this for a while trying to think of a picture that evokes emotion in my heart. I finally decided on this one:

This is my daughter Jenna. Isn't she cute? This day was her first birthday. One year passes so quickly. I got my camera, put her in a tutu skirt, and started shooting in her room (which has great natural light). In this picture, she's standing at my feet and looking up at me with her beautiful brown eyes.

Sure, first birthdays are always nostalgic to parents. They can't believe their little one is already one year old. Where does the time go? But, this was not only a celebration of her life, but mine as well. You see, the day Jenna was born, I nearly died. Something went wrong after the C-section... 8 hours and 2 surgeries later I finally got to hold my baby girl for the first time. And I was told that she would be the last child I would be able to have. We already had a little boy, and I am so glad God gave us a little girl.
