As I was driving to this session this evening the sky was getting dark and rain was hitting my windshield. I just knew that it was going to be rained out! I'm glad to say I was wrong. I had a beautiful late evening session with Brelyn.
Brelyn is a miracle child. It's that simple.
As I was photographing Brelyn, it was obvious how much she is loved.
Brelyn's mom writes: "Brelyn was born May 8, 2009 at 25 weeks weighing 2 lbs 3oz, 14 1/2 in. She had Grade IV IVH (intraventricular hemorrhage), which caused her to develop hydrocephalus ("water on the brain"). She wasn't able to have surgery until she weighed at least 4lbs 4oz. So as an alternate, the doctor did ventricular taps to help drain the fluid off of her brain to prevent any further damage. After a month in the NICU, she finally weighed enough to have the surgery! She was able to come home August 5. Two weeks later she was readmitted to the hospital for a week and was able to come home on oxygen. Three months later she had to have a shunt revision. We pray there will be no more revisions needed. The damage to her brain has caused her to have permanent damage to her optic nerve, requring her to wear glasses. One doctor thinks Brelyn may have a mild case of spastic triplegia. Brelyn receives physical therapy twice a week, and the doctors are amazed at how well she is doing. She is our MIRACLE baby!"

While at this session, I met Pistol. I've never been that close to a horse before with my camera in hand, so of course I had to take some pictures of him!
I think he liked posing for me.
